We hope this post finds everyone happy and healthy this holiday season.
It has been a great year! We will start from most recently and work backward through the year.
Today we spent Christmas Day with Chris’ family and partied potluck style with steak as the main course (thanks to Charlotte for winning a side of beef).
Last Saturday we celebrated with Laura’s family and ate ham with a side of mac ‘n’ cheese or was it mac ‘n’ cheese with a side of ham?! That must have been Laura’s plate!
Let us focus on events other than food; Chris graduated Friday, December 15th with a long awaited degree in Civil Engineering.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving we climbed to the highest peak in New Mexico, Wheeler peak, with our friend Angelika. That’s 13,159 feet! We must have been crazy, but it was well worth it. Some of you have been near there before when you attended Jen and Adam’s wedding.
November 30th we moved from our home of two years at Arbor RV park to the drive way (thanks Paul and Kellie).
In October we brought home a little one. Ally is brindle, weighs 35 lbs and is a bundle of energy. And no, it is not crowded in the 5th wheel with a dog. Fooled ya!
We tied the knot September 30th in Jemez Springs. Thanks to everyone who made it out for the tire swing, beer, thousands of flowers (thanks Kellie), human pyramids, hamburgers (Charlotte’s side of beef again), the best hot dogs this side of the Mississippi, mac ‘n’ cheese (of course), family, friends and tons of fun.
Laura “retired” from ten years of teaching to go back to school. Chris wrapped up his work at Fish and Wildlife in the hydrology department here in Albuquerque. And the rest they say is history…
The next adventure is set to start January 7, 2013. It will take us through Texas up to Missouri, back through Texas, then through southern New Mexico and Arizona. After three months on the road we will land in Portland, Oregon. This blog will be our communication with family and friends as we boondock, see new sights, and hopefully learn a little more about ourselves.
